My Bio
I'm a writer. An almost competent hack, or so I've been told by people wiser and more successful than myself. I've been writing a webcomic for a while now, and I've got enough writing done for at leat a years' worth of strips (presuming a biweekly update of eight panels). There's only one thing missing - an ILLUSTRATOR.

You see, I can't illustrate. I can do vague, amateurish sketches useful only for directing page layout and storyboard, but I can't produce a print- (or web-)ready illustration to save my life. I don't regard this as a failure; I acknowldege it as a limitation. I'm good at some things; I'm not good at everything. Illustration is one of those things I'm not good at.

So I'm here to share some of my writing, and to enlist an illustrator (perhaps you?) to help me get my story onto the web. I think it's a great story, and others with whom I've shared this story think it's a great story with potential.

I have no desire for fame; I have no illusions of getting rich off this story. All I want is to share it, and to find someone to help me share it.

There's more in my journal. Feel free to browse it for more about me, the story, the characters and the world in which this story takes place.

I'm looking for an anthro illustrator to bring my story to the web. The story is already 13 chapters in length. Domain name registered, software installed. (Needs work, but I need material to work with.) Potential revenue stream is minimal (ad revenue, "tip jar") with possibility to use the comic as a springboard for commissions et c. Story is semi-serious with humorous elements. Content is rated PG at best; no graphic sex or violence. Intending to update once weekly. Proposed content is B&W with occasional color gallery and holiday special features. All interested parties are invited to check out my profile journal for details and submit a

No story is engaging without conflict. The struggles of a character, whether external or internal, are what drives the plot. Without conflict, there is only dialogue, action, empty not-storytelling that stops at the back of the eyes and goes no further. Conflicts define a character's personality, development and motivation - it makes them what they are, more than mere people who act out a script. It gives characters depth; it makes them REAL. Real, because everyone has some conflict in their lives. A character's struggles become engaging in a storyline because they define the character beyond their words and actions. I'd like to describe the
